NATIONAL CHILDHOOD OBESITY AWARENESS MONTH
National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month offers opportunities for families to prevent childhood obesity early and to address the issue early.
#ChildhoodObesityAwarenessMonth
Children who have obesity issues are more likely to have those same issues as adults. Addressing them now prevents lifelong health issues such as diabetes, certain cancers, heart and sleep disorders.
Children with obesity may face physical, emotional and financial obstacles in the future, as well.
5 Tips to Prevent Obesity
Establish healthy eating habits at meal time.
Exercise as a family.
Get proper rest.
Limit screen time.
Eat healthy snacks.
Just because a child carries extra weight, does not make them overweight. Each child is different and there are many factors to play into the weight of a child. If you are concerned about your child's weight, talk to your doctor or a professional. A doctor uses a number of tests and charts that help determine a healthy weight for your child.
