How To Submit An Application to National Day Calendar
Submitting an application is easy. Simply fill out the information below and allow us enough time to review it. That’s it!
All applications should be submitted at least 6 weeks in advance to be included in the digital format of the current calendar year.
Our printed wall and box/desk calendars go to print almost a year in advance! It's true! Keep this in mind if your organization would like to be on the printed calendar the following year.
For inclusion in the printed calendar, acceptance must occur and be in the finalization phase by November 1 of the preceding year. For example, if you would like to be included in the printed version of the 2027 calendar, you must be near finalization of the entire process by November 1, 2026.
Top Tips for Filling out the Application
Provide as much detail as possible when submitting a National Day. The information you provide helps authenticate your claim and serves as a reliable source for media reporting. Include any websites, social media channels, or digital media. The more information you provide, the easier it is for us to research, discuss in detail, and reach a decision. All submissions are researched before they go before the committee. This allows for a quicker discussion process.
Remember to provide the correct phone number and email address when submitting your application. We will contact you by email if your day is approved. It’s also a good idea to list a secondary contact person to your application if you are a large organization. Unfortunately, we do not notify you if your application is denied.
If you are a PR agency or company representative, please include the company you are submitting on behalf of. All applications require the business name when applying for a National Day. This information is always kept confidential. We will never disclose any applications or approvals to anyone other than the contact on the application.
Research your idea on our website before you submit your application. Applications will not be reviewed by the committee if the day, week, or month already exists. If your idea does already exists, National Day Calendar offers unique opportunities to become the Official Sponsor or Official Destination of an already existing day/week/month. You can reach out through the Contact Us to learn more about these opportunities.
Keep the title/name of your submission as short as possible. If we receive a submission that we approve but think the title/name is too long, we will recommend a name change. An example of a long title/name is: National Turn the Lights Off to Save Electricity Day. We might recommend National Turn the Lights Off Day.
Applications that contain a copyright name or product in the title will only be accepted IF the application is submitted by the company or a representative, such as a PR agency. An example would be NATIONAL SUNKIST® CITRUS DAY | March 1. This day was submitted by Sunkist® Growers, the owners of the Sunkist® Company. Any applications that do show ownership within the application to a company name or product will not make it to the committee for review.
INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE REVIEWED BY THE COMMITTEE.
Review Process
Please allow us enough time to process the submission. We do not review applications the day you submit your application. We receive a large amount of applications on a daily basis and are always a few weeks behind. We take all of our applications seriously and read them all. We enjoy talking about the ideas because it gives us a sense of how much people value our calendar. Please be patient with us as we navigate through all the applications. If you we approve your submission, we will send you an email congratulating you. This email will include directing you to the next steps in the process.
We do not accept or declare National Days, Weeks, or Months for famous individuals. This requires an Act of Congress and we are not affiliated with the state or federal government. An example is: National Theodore Roosevelt Day. Theodore Roosevelt was the 26th President of the United States.
