COMMUNITY HEALTH IMPROVEMENT WEEK
Community Health Improvement Week during the first week in June honors health professionals both in hospital settings and those who work more closely with communities.
#CommunityHealthImprovementWeek
Community health professionals work closely with public health organizations, area leaders, hospitals, and clinics to guide neighborhoods, urban and suburban areas to improve overall health. Many of these professionals serve on boards and volunteer in an outreach capacity. Community health focuses on at-risk populations to make directed efforts to improve specific health concerns in a community.
Health Improvement areas of interest:
early maternity care
diabetes screening and care
infant screenings
mental health screenings
elder care
vaccines
health awareness programs
obesity
These community healthcare heroes advocate for their communities. They know when a community as a whole is healthy, they become economically healthy. A healthy community is a strong community that can face any obstacle.
